Ombudsman
Get help from the Ombudsman

If you have a student loan dispute that you are unable to solve on your own, the Ombudsman can help.

Before you contact the Ombudsman, be sure to work through the customer service process with your loan holder, they will help you try to find a solution. If customer service can't help you, ask to speak with the Ombudsman.

If you don’t know who your loan holder is, go to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), which is the central database for all federal student loan information. If ECMC holds your loans and you have tried to resolve your issue but still need help, it’s time to contact the ECMC Ombudsman.

Submit your request for ECMC Ombudsman assistance

To get started, you must complete an Ombudsman intake form and send it to our Ombudsman office. The Ombudsman will contact you within 10 days.

You can fill out the Ombudsman form online.

Or you can print and fill out the Ombudsman form and mail or fax the form to ECMC.

Be sure to include any supporting documentation you have.
